💣 What Are Remote Bombs?
Remote Bombs are a rune of the Sheikah Slate that lets Link conjure explosive charges and detonate them at will. Two variants exist — the Square Bomb and the Round Bomb — each sharing a cooldown timer but differing in shape and how they interact with terrain and physics.
🟨 Square Bomb
- Stays exactly where it is placed — ideal for tight spaces.
- Will not roll off ledges or ramps.
- Perfect for placing inside cracked walls or under boulders.
- Great for shrine puzzles requiring precise positioning.
🔴 Round Bomb
- Rolls and bounces along surfaces after being placed.
- Can be launched down slopes to travel great distances.
- Useful for hitting moving enemies or reaching areas on the move.
- Can be rolled into gaps or through narrow passages.
🗺️ Where to Obtain Them
Remote Bombs are awarded upon completing the Ja Baij Shrine — the Bomb Trial — on the Great Plateau. Both variants are granted simultaneously and share a single cooldown, so you can switch freely between them before detonating.
⚔️ Combat Uses
- Roll a Round Bomb into a group of enemies for area damage.
- Place a Square Bomb near a sleeping enemy and detonate it instantly.
- Knock enemies off ledges with the blast force.
- Interrupt a Guardian's laser charge by detonating a bomb nearby.
🧩 Puzzle & Exploration Uses
- Destroy cracked walls and boulders blocking paths.
- Launch Link into the air by standing near a detonation (with care!).
- Trigger pressure plates from a safe distance.
- Break ore deposits to collect gems without using weapon durability.
