Fuse in Tears of the Kingdom

🔗 What Is Fuse?

Fuse is one of Link's core abilities in Tears of the Kingdom. It allows Link to permanently attach any material, object, or enemy drop to a weapon, shield, or arrow — dramatically increasing damage, adding elemental effects, or unlocking entirely new combat capabilities that the base weapon never had.

🗺️ Where to Obtain It

Fuse is obtained on the Great Sky Island early in Tears of the Kingdom. It is one of the first four abilities Link regains after losing his powers, making it immediately essential for surviving the tutorial area and beyond.

⚔️ Weapon Fuse

  • Attach monster parts to boost a weapon's attack power significantly.
  • Fuse elemental materials (Fire Fruit, Ice Fruit) to add status effects.
  • Combining a long stick with a weapon extends its reach dramatically.
  • Attach a Puffshroom to release a blinding spore cloud on hit.

🛡️ Shield Fuse

  • Attach a rocket to a shield for a massive upward launch on parry.
  • Fuse a mine cart to skate along rails at high speed.
  • Attach wings for extended gliding distance after a shield surf.
  • Add spikes to deal damage when enemies hit the shield.

🏹 Arrow Fuse

  • Fuse elemental fruits for fire, ice, or electric arrow shots.
  • Attach Bomb Flowers for explosive arrows with a wide blast radius.
  • Combine with Muddle Buds to confuse and turn enemies against each other.
  • Fuse Keese Eyeballs for homing arrows that track the nearest enemy.

⚡ Tips & Tricks

  • Fused weapons can be unfused — you lose the material but keep the weapon.
  • Higher-level monster parts (Silver/Gold) give the largest stat boosts.
  • Fuse Large Zonai Charges to a weapon for huge single-hit burst damage.
  • Dragon parts fused to weapons give permanent elemental infusion.
Champion's Tip: Fuse a Keese Eyeball to any arrow to give it homing capability — it will curve mid-flight toward the nearest enemy. Pair this with a Bomb Flower for a homing explosive arrow that is devastatingly effective against flying enemies like Gleeoks and Aerocudas.
