Ultrahand in Tears of the Kingdom

🖐️ What Is Ultrahand?

Ultrahand is one of Link's core abilities in Tears of the Kingdom, granted by Rauru's hand. It allows Link to grab, move, rotate, and attach almost any object in the world — from wooden planks and boulders to vehicles and enemy weapons — enabling freeform construction anywhere in Hyrule and the Sky Islands.

🗺️ Where to Obtain It

Ultrahand is obtained on the Great Sky Island at the very start of Tears of the Kingdom. It is the first ability Link regains after waking, making it fundamental to everything that follows in the game.

🔧 Building & Attaching

  • Grab objects and press the attach button to fuse them together permanently.
  • Build rafts, carts, sleds, gliders, and almost any vehicle imaginable.
  • Combine Zonai devices with structures to add propulsion, wings, or weapons.
  • Detach previously joined pieces by shaking the R Joy-con.

⚔️ Combat Uses

  • Hurl large boulders or logs directly at groups of enemies.
  • Grab enemy weapons mid-fight and throw them back.
  • Build spiked constructs and drive them into Enemy camps.
  • Lift and drop heavy objects onto armoured enemies to break their guard.

🌍 Exploration Uses

  • Construct bridges across gaps too wide to jump or glide.
  • Stack objects to reach high ledges without climbing stamina.
  • Build flying machines using fans and wings to access Sky Islands.
  • Create hovering platforms with Zonai fans to cross chasms in the Depths.

⚡ Tips & Tricks

  • Rotate objects freely in all three axes for precise placement.
  • Objects glow teal when within Ultrahand range.
  • You can only combine 21 objects together no matter the size or type.
Champion's Tip: Attach a Steering Stick Zonai device to any vehicle to gain direct control. Pair it with fans or rockets for powered movement, then add a Cannon or Beam Emitter for a fully armed combat machine — all built on the fly with whatever materials you have to hand.
